Dear AUCA Community!
The Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities(AALAU) and theֱ(AUCA) are pleased officiallyto open the Call for Papers and Session Organizers for our upcoming annual conference.
To address the pressing issues facing higher education today, we are organizing a series of parallel sessions andinvitefaculty, administrators, and institutional leaders to help shape the dialogue. We welcome proposals for individual paper presentations as well as expressions of interest from individuals looking to chair/organize specific tracks.
Conference Tracks & Topics
We are seeking submissions that explore the following critical areas in interactive and creative methodologies
- Artificial Intelligence & Digital Humanities: Exploring the intersection of generative AI, ethical technology, and the preservation/evolution of the humanities in a digital age.
- Geopolitical Shifts & Global Mobility: Navigating the impact of changing international relations, regional politics, and immigration policies on academic freedom and cross-border education.
- Career Relevance: Redefining the value proposition of a liberal arts degree to ensure graduates are adaptable, competitive, and equipped for a rapidly evolving workforce.
- Financial Sustainability & Fundraising: Sharing innovative institutional models, endowment management strategies, and philanthropic approaches to secure long-term viability.
- Mental Health & Campus Well-being: Addressing the growing mental health crisis among students and faculty, and designing holistic campus support systems.
- Curriculum Design & Cross-Institutional Collaboration: Modernizing interdisciplinary curricula to balance foundational values with future-facing competencies, and cultivating cross-institutional research collaborations.
- Exchange, Mobility & Pedagogy: Sharing practical strategies for enhancing student/faculty mobility and showcasing successful teaching methodologies tailored to the Asian context.
Submission Guidelines
If you are interested in presenting your institution's research/practices or chairing one of these distinct tracks, please submit your proposal adhering to the following guidelines:
Format: A brief abstract of no more than 300 words.

Logistics Note:This is a two-day event. While participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements, complimentary meals and coffee breaks will be provided to all registered attendees throughout the conference.
